List types
You can create a list as a Task List, a Note List or a Form. You can always change the type later if needed.
Task Lists
A Task List is for the things you have to do. Its tasks can have a due date and a time, they show up on the calendar, and they go into your daily email.
Note Lists
A Note List is for things to keep track of rather than do by a date - books to read, things to buy for the house, a portfolio, ideas. A note is just a title and some detail: it can't have a date, and it never appears in All tasks or your daily email. There's nothing to tick off either: when you're finished with a note, choose Archive note from its ••• menu, or move it to a Task List when it's time to act on it.
Forms
A Form has a public link anyone can send a response to - feedback, requests, ideas for what to build next - with no account needed. Responses arrive on the list like notes, with whatever name and email the form asked for, and everyone on the list is emailed new ones as they come in - each person can turn their own emails off in the Form tab.
On the list's Form tab, write up to 25 questions - with a preview of the form beside them as you go: the first is answered in a few words and becomes the response's title, and the rest can be a short answer, a paragraph, multiple choice, checkboxes or a 1 to 5 rating, each required or optional.
Its link starts off. Turn it on in the Form tab to start taking responses. Visitors only ever see the form: what they send comes to your list, and nobody else who fills it in sees it. Make a new link there too, and the old one stops working.
Changing the type
If you own the list, you can switch it to another type from the menu at the top of the list. Nothing is lost - any dates are hidden while it's a Note List or a Form, and come back if you switch it again. A Form switched to anything else stops taking responses, and keeps its settings for if you switch it back.
You can't switch a Task List to another type while it still has repeating tasks on it. Stop them repeating, or move them to another list, first.
Turning a note into a task
Open the note and click "Move to" to move it onto a Task List. It becomes an ordinary task, ready for a date.
Move a task the other way, onto a Note List or a Form, and it loses its date and repeat. Apricot tells you when that happens. A response moved to a Task List keeps who sent it.
All tasks
All tasks is a page showing the tasks from every Task List together, as a list or on the calendar, each one labelled with the list it came from. Notes aren't included.
As a list, it's split by when things are due: Overdue, Due today, Due tomorrow, Upcoming, and No date. A section only shows when it has something in it. Tap a section's heading to fold it away, and again to open it; it stays how you left it.
All notes
All notes does the same for your Note Lists. It only appears in the panel once you have one.
