Questions & answers

- What is Apricot?
- Shared lists for the things you need to do, keep and collect: Task Lists with dates, repeats and a shared calendar, Note Lists for things like books to read, and Forms anyone can send to. Your AI assistant can run all of it for you, or you can use the app yourself.
- Which assistants does it work with?
- Claude, ChatGPT and any other assistant that lets you add a custom connector (an MCP server). Add
https://www.apricot.so/api/mcp, sign in and approve it once. The help centre walks you through it. - Do I have to use an AI assistant?
- No. The app does everything the assistant can – lists, the calendar, sharing, assigning, repeats, forms and reminders. The assistant is just the quickest way in.
- Is there a phone app?
- Yes – Apricot is a Progressive Web App, so you install it straight from your browser rather than an app store. Add it to your phone's home screen, or your computer's dock, and it opens like any other app, in a window of its own and straight onto your lists. Follow our guide to set it up on an iPhone, Android phone or computer.
- What are Note Lists and Forms?
- A Note List is for things to keep rather than do – books to read, gift ideas, a portfolio – so its notes have no dates and never chase you. A Form has a public link anyone can send a response to, with no account needed: feedback, sign-ups, requests. Responses land on the list for you and anyone you share it with, and nobody else ever sees them. A Form takes up to 50 new responses a day on Free.
- Do the people I share with need an account?
- Yes, but they don't need to make one first. Invite them by email and accepting creates their free account – there's no password. Everyone on a list can add, edit, assign and tick off its tasks; only you, as its owner, can rename, share, archive or delete it.
- Is Apricot a Todoist alternative?
- Yes, if you'd like something simpler. Apricot does what most people want from a to-do list app – lists, due dates and times, repeating tasks, a shared calendar, assigning and a daily email – with nothing to set up first. And because it works inside Claude and ChatGPT, you can add and tick off tasks in the chat you already have open.
- Can I use it instead of a Notion to-do list?
- Yes. In Notion a to-do list is something you build and look after yourself. In Apricot your lists, notes, calendar, sharing and reminders are ready the moment you sign up, and your assistant can keep them up to date for you. The help centre explains how to bring your tasks across.
- Is it free?
- Yes. The Free plan gives you 3 lists, 25 open tasks on each, sharing each list with up to 2 people, and 300 assistant calls a month. Pro (£3.50 a month) and Max (£12 a month) give you more room. Lists shared with you count towards their owner's plan, not yours, and archived lists don't count at all.
- How do I cancel or change plan?
- From your profile. Manage subscription opens Stripe, where you can switch between Pro and Max, update your card, download invoices or cancel. If you cancel, you keep your plan until the end of the month you've paid for, then move to Free with your lists intact.
- What counts as an assistant call?
- Every action an assistant takes in Apricot – reading a list, adding a task, ticking one off – counts as one call. The count resets on the 1st of each month, and your profile shows how many you've used.
- Is my data safe?
- Your lists are kept in a database in London. There are no passwords to leak: you sign in with a code we email you. We don't sell your data or use it for advertising, and you can revoke an assistant or delete your account at any time.
