Dates and repeats

When something's due, and how to handle the jobs that come round again.

Due dates

A due date is a whole day rather than a moment, so "due Thursday" means Thursday wherever in the world you are. Anything overdue is shown in red.

Due times

You can add a time to the due date - the dentist at 15:30, say. Times are in your own local time, and a task with one appears at that time on the calendar.

The calendar

Any Task List can be shown as a plain list or as a calendar, by week or by month. On a shared list, each person's tasks are in their own colour. Click a day, or a time slot, to add something there.

Repeating tasks

Some jobs come round again and again: the bins, the rent, a birthday. Make the task repeat, and each time you tick it off Apricot creates the next one for you, with the same list, person, notes and reminders.

A task can repeat daily, weekly on the days you choose, monthly on a date or the last day or, say, the third Friday, or yearly.

Hiding one until it's nearly due

Tick off a yearly task and the next one isn't due for another year, but it would sit in your list the whole time. So you can keep a repeating task hidden until it's nearly due - anywhere from three months before to the day itself.

The Recurring page lists every repeating task, including the hidden ones, and the date each will reappear.

Skipping one

Away the week the bins go out? Open the task and click "Skip this one" to jump it to its next date without marking it done.

Didn't find it? Email support@apricot.so and a person will write back.
