Apricot is in beta

Today we've launched Apricot in beta. Apricot keeps track of your tasks, lets you share lists with your team or your family, and sends you a reminder by email - and you can use all of it straight from the AI assistant you already pay for, such as Claude or ChatGPT. There's a clean web app too, for when you'd rather see everything laid out in front of you.

Here's what makes it different: we're not asking you to download another app and learn it. Think of Apricot as an easy add-on to your favourite AI tool. You're already talking to it all day, so that's where capturing a task belongs - “remind me to renew the insurance on Friday”, “what's due this week?”, “put the offsite plan on the team list”. Apricot is the bit that remembers, shares and reminds.

Notion, Teams and the rest of the task apps are powerful, and that's rather the problem. Databases, boards, templates, permissions, six ways to do the same thing - we kept setting them up and kept drifting away from them. Apricot is deliberately pared back: a handful of things done plainly, no feature bloat, nothing to configure, and little to learn.

It came out of our own need. As founders we had to stay on top of business tasks and deadlines, and we also wanted somewhere to jot down the topics we meant to explore when time allowed, so they weren't lost. What we really wanted was a shared view of what we're working on and what's lined up next. Nothing we tried was simple enough, so we built it, and we now run our own business on it.

We know that building software has never been more accessible, and that a tool this simple could be copied without much trouble. We're sharing it anyway. We'd rather other people got the use of it.

We're carrying on from here, extending Apricot as a task-focused app you connect to your AI subscription. We're excited for people to try it, and we'd genuinely love your feedback - what's missing, what's confusing, and what you'd throw away. Write to us at support@apricot.so.

I hope you enjoy Apricot.

What you can do today

  1. 01

Use it from your AI assistant

Connect Apricot to Claude, ChatGPT or another assistant and it can do everything the app can: make lists, add tasks with due dates and notes, assign them, complete or archive them, invite people, and change your reminder schedule. You can revoke that access from your profile at any time.

  2. 02

    Lists and tasks, kept simple

A task is a title, some optional detail and a due date. Overdue work reads in red. That's it - no statuses, boards or custom fields to set up first.

  3. 03

Share a list with your team or family

Invite someone by email and they get their own account. Everyone on a list can add, edit, assign and complete its tasks, and each person shows up in their own colour so you can see at a glance who owns what.

  4. 04

    Assign work to people

Put a name against a task so it's clear who's doing it, on any shared list.

  5. 05

    Email reminders, on your schedule

Ring the bell on the tasks you want chasing and Apricot emails you a digest of them - daily, every few days or weekly, at the hour and in the timezone you choose. Reminders are personal: switching one on for yourself doesn't email anyone else.

  6. 06

    Archive instead of hoarding

Clear finished tasks out of the list into an archive, where you can restore them or delete them for good. Archived tasks are removed automatically after 30 days.

  7. 07

    Your lists, in your order

Reorder your lists and star one as your primary - the list a new task lands on when you don't name one, including tasks added by your assistant.

  8. 08

    Free to start, assistant included

Connecting an assistant is the point of Apricot, so it's on every plan, including Free. Free covers 3 lists, 25 open tasks on each and 200 assistant calls a month. Pro is £3 a month for 10 lists and 5,000 calls; Team is £12 for 100 lists and 20,000.
